Small feeder streams that flow from the upper slopes vary in volume depending on seasonal run-off. With a southeast facing aspect, the forest enjoys full sun for long hours each day. The forest supports well-stocked stands of mixed species in pole and sapling sizes. About half the property is mixedwood stands with hemlock, spruce, fir and some pine mixed with maple, birch and poplar. The balance of the forest is populated with hardwoods, notably birch, beech and oak.
